Our Story

The Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi was founded in 1953 on the University of North Texas campus. In 1935, a social group by the name of Phoureffs, which stood for 'Faithful Friendships Formed Forever,' formed at UNT. The Phoureffs was the second organization of its kind at North Texas. In 1944 they became a local sorority and took the letters of Delta Chi Delta. When most of the fraternities and sororities were affiliating with national organizations in the mid 1950s, the Delta Chi's became Alpha Delta Pi. We were the second group on campus to affiliate with a national sorority.
Over 50 years later, the UNT chapter of ADPi is thriving. Our members are leaders on campus and in the community. We not only win awards within the Greek Community but within our own organization as well. We pride ourselves on our unique and special sisterhood. Gamma Upsilon is proud to be a part of the first and finest.
